Enables molecular diseases testing at point of need

Curetis combines proven and innovative technologies is expected to deliver reliable and clinically relevant answers. Its propriety products are based on a versatile hardware platform handling disease specific cartridges for the analysis of various disease marker panels. The first implementation of the Curetis technology know-how uses DNA-based testing targeting infections.

The Curetis solution translates the complex molecular diagnostic work flow into an easy to use format by integrating all necessary pre-analytical and analytical steps into one solution optimized for footprint, cost and reliability. The heart of the solution is a unique disposable cartridge providing the reagents necessary to complete the analysis from 'sample to result'. This includes

  • conditioning of the sample / cell lysing procedures
  • purifying and amplifying DNA

  • and detecting the DNA.

Curetis unique cartridge and platform design is compatible with a broad range of sample types.

Our unmatched sample preparation technology

Preparing many clinically relevant samples

Curetis' sample lysis technology works with a comprehensive range of native samples.

Successful diagnosis of various diseases requires detecting the full variety of associated analytes from different sample types even in complex samples ones like highly viscous samples or specimens with poor quality.

The Curetis sample preparation technology uses a combination of different chemicals, a novel mechanical actuation, and thermal lysis in a unique sample preparation technology (patent pending). This improves sample homogenization and lysis performance.

Because of its universality the Curetis technologies can use a single protocol for sample preparation for many sample types. This means consistent work flow and an almost completely automated sample analysis, thus reducing potential handling errors.

Our unique cartridge technology

Reliable for multiplexed testing at all levels

Multiple sample analysis steps, which integrate isolation, amplification and detection of DNA are incorporated in a unique disposable cartridge should provide high quality results.

One of Curetis' core competences is the design of reliable bio-assays in self-contained cartridges to enable sensitive multiplexed testing. The required multiplex grade is achieved by combining the unmatched sample preparation and PCR technology with a proprietary detection array. The generic nature of the approach makes it possible to implement dedicated cartridges for a broad range of diseases, without having to modify instrumentation.

The Curetis cartridge technology detects 50 or more different analytes in a short time. The Curetis array has been optimized for hybridization times of only a few minutes – compared with hours for standard arrays.

Our universal platform technology

Simplified uniform work flow enabling testing at point of need

To meet user needs Curetis delivers simplified molecular testing based on its universal analysis platform eliminating operator induced variations and ensuring high-quality results.

All analytical steps for sample preparation, DNA purification, amplification and specific detection are supported by the universal platform. The user’s time is reduced by pre-loaded reagents the cartridge. Once the cartridge is loaded into the analyzer, all sample processing happens automatically without any further operator interaction.
