Customer and Sales Support Specialist (CSS) Job Description

As our Customer and Sales Support Specialist (CSS), you are a critical part of the Curetis customer and sales enablement team, directly responsible for delighting our customers by creating exceptional customer experiences and supporting our commercial sales team via pre-qualification of sales leads. On the customer support side, you will support products for the Curetis Unyvero platform through collaborative cross-functional engagement within the Curetis organization and a detail-oriented approach to managing customer expectations, including issue escalation and resolution. In your sales support role, you will be the liaison between the home office and the field sales force as well as assist in sales lead development via a pre-qualification process. You will build and strengthen professional relationships with hospital-based clinical personnel, including responsible for professionally handling all inbound calls from potential and existing customers, receiving customer orders, invoicing, claims handling, and ensuring overall logistics flow between Curetis and customers. Additionally, you will make outbound calls to existing customers to ensure account management and a smooth, forecastable ordering process. You will be accountable for providing internal and external customer service in a manner that promotes courtesy, integrity and efficiency.

Customer Support Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure flow of products from Curetis to the end-customer
  • Receive and process Purchase Orders from customers
  • Manage customer invoices, claims, returns, credits and related processes
  • Gain a strong knowledge of the company’s products in order to explain products and services and make appropriate recommendations
  • Create, update and maintain customer info, forms and agreements in CRM (Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience
  • Ability to establish rapport, inspire confidence and positively influence the customer experience
  • Respond to customers in a polite and courteous manner at all times by demonstrating patience, empathy and sincerity in all communications, and follow through on commitments
  • Resolve customer service inquiries including product questions, material requests, and account updates
  • Resolve and log all customer complaints in a timely manner per company procedures and in conjunction with technical support specialist
  • Collaborate within the Curetis organization, especially with Commercial and Scientific Affairs teams to identify and prioritize customer needs

Sales Support Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Commercial management team with forecasting and sales operations
  • Participate in sales lead, pipeline building via pre-qualification of leads
  • Support company trade show activities as required
  • Generate internal reports to support the needs of teams within the company, particularly the commercial teams
  • Manage inventory allocations and shipping prioritization as required
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Proven Internal Sales knowledge and experience mandatory
  • Medical Device and/or Biotech customer service experience highly desired
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in logistics and customer support
  • Strong customer focus, sense of urgency, and service-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High working standards and self-motivated with the ability to quickly establish credibility and build business relationships

Curetis Clinical Applications Specialist (CAS) Job Description

The Clinical Application Specialist (CAS) will represent Curetis USA and its products, engaging in clinically-based exchanges with national, regional and local infectious disease key opinion leaders, physicians, laboratorian, and other medical staff such as infection control and pharmacy. The CAS will be responsible for providing scientific support, clinical education and training on the benefits and clinical utility of Curetis’s products, assist in developing best practices and protocols to maximize product utilization at institutions, assist laboratories with implementation of products, enable customers in fully utilizing the clinical potential of products, support pre- and post- launch studies, identify key publications to support and defend Curetis products, and form relationships with laboratorians and clinicians to develop key opinion leaders. The CAS will work closely with Scientific Affairs and Commercial teams to develop strategies to achieve the corporate objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and strengthen professional relationships with hospital-based clinical personnel, including laboratorians, physicians, pharmacists and infection control staff.
  • Serve as a key clinical/scientific resource to customers and Curetis personnel.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of disease state, clinical information, product data, and key publications within the infectious disease arena, including current and pending competitors.
  • Must possess the ability to translate clinical information and data into high quality medical dialogue.
  • Develop and deliver effective clinical training and presentations to customers and Curetis personnel.
  • Ascertain critical competitive intelligence through ongoing publication searches, meetings with product experts, attendance at conferences, and appropriately communicate information back to key stakeholders at Curetis.
  • Collaborate with the Scientific Affairs and Clinical Operations teams to coordinate and optimize educational support for sites/investigators participating in the Company’s clinical trials and other study initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Scientific Affairs team in responding to requests regarding interest in investigator-sponsored studies, and support these study submissions through appropriate internal processes.
  • Collaborate with Technical Support and Scientific Affairs in responding to unsolicited requests for medical/clinical information associated with supported products and disease state areas.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to support and achieve corporate objectives.
  • Identify key clinical issues and insights from industry leaders and communicate to appropriate stakeholders at Curetis to help shape product positioning and strategies.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with manager and key stakeholders within the company to ensure appropriate timelines of project deliverables.
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines and company policies in all aspects of scientific dissemination of information to include responses to unsolicited requests for medical information.
  • Provide field updates regarding topics of interest.
  • Comply with administrative and reporting needs on a timely basis or as requested by management.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related area with demonstrated expertise in laboratory Molecular Biology or Microbiology; PhD, MS, MSN, desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years in the diagnostic or medical device industry required; minimum 2 years clinical experience within hospital-based infectious disease arena preferred.
  • Prior experience providing clinical support to diagnostics or medical devices, including KOL development, investigator-initiated clinical trials, publications and educational programs highly preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate and teach others complex scientific information and credibly manage informal and formal scientific conversations and presentations
  • Established track record of effective and influential written and oral presentations within the healthcare profession.
  • Knowledge of FDA compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate and work in cross functional network
  • Ability to develop scientifically-credible and respected effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to search, read, interpret, and convey pertinent medical literature in the relevant clinical areas and establish self as a valuable resource to both internal and external customers
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain a high level of ethical and compliance standards
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally is required, up to 70% (7-10 overnights per month); must be willing to travel weekly, with overnight travel as needed.

Ihre Aufgaben…
Als Mitglied unseres Entwicklungsteams „IVD Development“ erwartet Sie ein vielfältiges Aufgabengebiet. Sie sind an der Neu- und Weiterentwicklung von Applikationslösungen im Bereich molekulare Infektionsdiagnostik von der Konzeption über die Umsetzung bis zur Validierung und regulatorischen Zulassung beteiligt. Zusätzlich zu den Schwerpunkten klinische Probenaufbereitung und Entwicklung von multiplex PCR Assays für schwere akute Erkrankungen agieren Sie auch als Schnittstelle zu anderen Abteilungen wie Software-Entwicklung, Regulatory Affairs und anderen Bereichen.

Our Unyvero product line allows for the detection of pathological microorganisms and their antibiotic resistances in a variety of different patient samples within a few hours — a process that takes days or even weeks with other procedures. Your Responsibilities...

  • You will be the responsible product manager for the Unyvero product line.
  • You will maintain routine communication to support the colleagues of sales and R&D and help to resolve any issues that may arise. 
  • You will provide support in customer collaborations to ensure effective working relationships and timely adoption of products.
  • You will attend scientific meetings and congresses to interface with customers and gather information on trends, products and discoveries relevant to the Unyvero product line.
  • You will understand and analyze customer needs and translate them into adequate product positioning and marketing strategy.
  • You will provide the management with reports on market developments, competitive landscape, product opportunities, and customer feedback as a basis for strategic product portfolio and business decisions.
  • You will perform market research to define product concept, customer requirement and product requirement and be the key interface to R&D through the entire product development cycle.
  • You will evaluate customer product performance and communicate internally on this evaluation to all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • You will provide content for marketing materials, sales presentations and training programs.
  • You will train the sales force on product positioning and product features and how to present the product to customers.

Your Qualification & Experience…

  • An PhD in life sciences or a similar qualification with at least 5 years of professional experience as a product manager for IVD products.
  • Professional experience in the field of microbiology and/or molecular biology.
  • A combination of in-depth understanding of technology and science with strong business acumen.
  • Willingness to travel for up to 50% of the time (nationally and internationally).

Curetis, a young, publicly traded molecular diagnostics company based in Holzgerlingen near Stuttgart, Germany, specializes in the development and marketing of reliable, fast and cost-effective solutions for the diagnosis of serious infections. Our Unyvero product line allows for the detection of pathological microorganisms and their antibiotic resistances in a variety of different patient samples within a few hours — a process that takes days or even weeks with other procedures. Since 2012, we have marketed this cartridge-based molecular diagnostics platform with a constantly growing portfolio of applications for the syndromic testing of hospitalized patients with severe microbial infections.

We are going to significantly accelerate the growth and market penetration of our Unyvero product line national and internationally and are expanding our commercial team in Germany to facilitate this growth.

Market Development Manager (m/f)

This is a full time and field based position, covering the territory:

Germany South

Your Responsibilities...
In your role as a Market Development Manager, you will consistently expand the customer base for the innovative Unyvero product line by winning new customers in your sales territory.

Your many years of practical experience in selling instruments and reagents for laboratory diagnostics, or comparable med-tech or pharmaceutical products, will allow you to convince laboratory physicians, microbiologists, clinicians (Intensive Care Unit doctors, Orthopedic Surgeons, Infectious Diseases specialists) and hospital management of the clinical benefits of the Unyvero System at a high level.

In the process, you will develop and implement regional sales strategies together with the sales management. In collaboration with Scientific Affairs, you will develop and maintain connections with opinion leaders in your territory and develop them into reference customers for Unyvero. In addition, together with the marketing team, you will represent Curetis GmbH at regional and international trade fairs, product presentations and customer events.

Your commercial success will be reflected in a continuously and rapidly growing number of instrument placements and rapidly growing revenues by increasing the demand for our tests with clinicians on your territory.

Your Qualification & Experience…

  • An education in life sciences or medicine
  • At least five years of sales experience in the areas of laboratory diagnostics, med-tech or pharmaceuticals, preferably with experience in the areas of microbiology and/or molecular diagnostics
  • Key account management expertise with experienced and professional management of all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Sales experience in the clinical and laboratory segment, ideally with an existing customer network in the respective sales territory
  • Experience in the market introduction of innovative products and in the development of a new business
  • Proven ability of delivering successful clinical/sales presentations to clinicians
  • Solid understanding of the purchasing processes in hospitals and the relevant stakeholders, ideally in the area of diagnostics
  • An independent and reliable way of working
  • An open and communicative mind-set and approach
  • The conscious decision to work as a team player in an innovative and dynamic smaller company.
  • German native speaker and very good spoken and written knowledge of English.
  • Professional knowledge of current office and sales software applications (MS Office, CRM solutions)
  • Considerable willingness to travel for up to 80% of the working time
